My little guy, mother and myself were lucky enough to be selected to travel to Springfield and experience the city during the month of October 2016. This city has so much to do, and we had an amazing time bouncing from place to place. The travel to Springfield (6 hours) was an adventure itself with many stops along the way and areas of interest.

We arrived to our hotel fairly early and were greeted by the friendly staffed who had no issues checking us into a room ahead of time at the Days Inn Springfield (621 W Sunshine Springfield, MO 65807).  The hotel itself was located conveniently in the center off all attractions and the room was clean and large enough for our family! Also, continental breakfast and a pool/hot tub were some great perks!

Over the course of the three days we took part in many activities and had to skip a few due to timing issues and a minor tummy flu. Little man was a tough cookie and didn't take a nap during this adventure I'm very proud of him considering he typically gets rather grouchy without. I'm sure being in a new area and having so many hands on activities helped.  It was a busy and memorable weekend, but one that was well spent.

We checked out the Discovery Center and this place was fun! It is centrally located and simply to find. We played with nearly everything within site and had a blast digging for dinosaur fossils and getting foam airplanes to fly!

The weather was simply perfect during our entire stay. You can't beat going to the Dickerson Park Zoo with sunshine in October. Aiden said that the zoo was his favorite part of the trip. We saw beautiful peacocks and silly monkeys as well as giraffes and elephants!

During our little trip we checked something off our bucket list and explored a cave at Fantastic Caverns. The cave was simply gorgeous and so big! We learned so much about the ecosystem and the cave itself. We even got to see the original explorer's namesake written in charcoal.

After leaving we were so hungry and stopped by Andy B's for a game of bowling, laser tag and some dinner.  Bowling excited Aiden and the food was great. The service was phenomenal as well. This place definitely rocked and was an upscale bowling alley with very high tech features.

If you love the outdoors you must stop by the largest Bass Pro Shops. This store could literally keep you occupied all day and I couldn't leave without picking up a pink fishing pole! I'm in awe. Their were alligators swimming around and Aiden enjoyed 'driving' the boats.

Aiden couldn't contain himself when I told him we were heading to the America's Incredible Pizza Company. I hyped him up for days on all the exciting game options offered. We had so much fun at this place and left completely exhausted and our tummy's were satisfied after taking a trip or two to the buffet. If you love games, thrills and food you have to check this place out. It's a glorified Vegas for kids (and adults).

We ended our trip with a relaxing walk at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center which was much needed. It definitely the perfect place to unwind after a weekend in Springfield.

Everything went fairly smooth this trip.  It also seemed the locals didn't mind offering advice on places to visit. They were somewhat chatty and very helpful.  Thanks for offering such a fun and memorable trip Springfield, MO!  @USFG
