390 children drown each year in their own backyards

According to these statistics from Life Saver Pool Fence and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, an average of 390 children drown each year in their own backyards. Drowning is the second-leading cause of unintentional death for children under the age of 14. Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under the age of 4.
