WILDERNESS HOTEL & GOLF RESORT. Americas Largest Waterpark Resort #WildernessWI #review #familytravel

You simply cannot put a price on the time spent with your family. And as we all know our little ones grow to fast and the memories formed while traveling or on vacation will be treasured for a lifetime. Whenever, I have the opportunity to spend one on one with my little family I take advantage of it. We recently had the opportunity to visit the Wilderness Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. Let me tell you, this water-park has officially become one of our yearly vacation destinations. With plenty of slides, an amazing wave pool, relaxing lazy river and several toddler friendly play and spray areas to keep the young and those young at heart entertained, you will surely visit the Wilderness Resort year after year.

During the registration process, we noticed how friendly and thorough the guest service staff were.  They definitely set the tone for a very positive experience and without hesitation offered our water park bands to enjoy the park prior to our room being cleaned. Within the hour we received a text stating the room was ready! They also offered all the necessary information to get around including a map, directions to the closest entry point in our room and water park passes to kick off our weekend adventure.

The Wilderness Resort in the Wisconsin Dells is an amazing family vacation destination for year around fun. Being very well known for it's indoor and outdoor water parks, the Wilderness offers other super cool entertainment including: pottery painting, zip line tours, laser tag, indoor rope course, 3-D black light mini golf, Wilderness Indoor Go-Kart Trail, Wild West Indoor Bumper Boats and a Timberland Play Park. And for those golf enthusiast, there's Wild Rock, an award-winning championship 18 hole golf course and The Woods 9-hole family golf course. And for those like myself, with a sweet tooth. I'd recommend the candy store!

Even with cloudy weather mixed with rain we still took advantage of the outdoor water parks. Our personal favorites were the New Frontier and Lake Wilderness which offer zero-depth toddler areas. And are ideal for parents with young children to relax. You wouldn't even imagine how refreshing a hot tub feels with a light rain falling down. It's unlike anything else you've ever experienced. And as amazing as a visit to your local spa.

For those interested in fun other than the indoor and outdoor water parks, I'd suggest purchasing a Wild Fun Pass. For just $24.95 plus tax, the Wild Fun Pass offers a 50 percent savings on some the Wilderness’s most popular attractions. The pass includes: one admission to the Northern Lights Sky Ropes Course; nine holes of black light 3D mini-golf at the Wild Buccaneer; nine holes of black light 3D mini-golf at the Wild Abyss; one bumper boat ride at the Wild West Bumper Boats; one game of laser tag at the OK Corral Lazer Arena and Marshall Training Lazer Maze; one admission to Wilderwoods Indoor Go-Kart Trail; and $1 off a hand-blended ice cream temptation at Pistol Pete's.

The Northern Lights Sky Ropes Course is a great test of balance and bravery as you climb your way around 42 challenges with varying degrees of difficulty. It is located three stories above the Northern Lights Mega Arcade in the Wild West portion of the Wilderness Resort. The Wild Buccaneer is pirate-themed 3D miniature golf course that takes participants on swashbuckling adventure! Intense graphics and challenging obstacles will vie for your attention as you work your way towards the pirate's booty of treasures. It is located by Timberland Playhouse in the Wild West portion of the Wilderness Resort. The Wild Abyss is an ocean-themed 3D miniature golf course featuring huge aquariums filled with beautiful salt water creatures, intense 3D graphics and obstacles that will amaze you while challenging your golfing skills! It is also located by Timberland Playhouse in the Wild West portion of the Wilderness Resort. While, you have to meet certain height requirements this may be one of the scariest and intense attractions. If you love adrenaline and heights you are sure to enjoy the ropes course.

The Wild West Bumper Boats encourage riders to see who can bump, splash and spray the other riders the most! This attraction is certain to make you laugh while having a great time. The Bumper Boats are located in the Wild West Indoor Waterpark. This is a great activity for all ages and you are guaranteed to be soaked upon exiting.

In Ok Corral Lazer Tag Arena you can challenge your friends and family to a showdown. Here up to 30 players at a time compete for top score while making their way into the Town Square and avoiding shots from other players and from the game itself. There’s even a second floor where you can take aim over the railings at the unsuspecting outlaws below. Explore the saloon, fort, jail and covered wagon while collecting points and taking points away from other players.

In the Marshal Training Lazer Maze you can see if you have what it takes to become a Deputy. You have to use your speed and agility to successfully navigate through the maze. If you break a beam of light your time will be penalized. Only those with the best time will be named Marshall. Out of the six who played I had the highest score. Go me!

The Wilderwoods Indoor Go-Kart Trail is a two-story course that offers a total adrenaline rush as twelve guests at a time race in electric cars. The course is an exciting 525 feet long course and features twists, turns and even cork screws! You can ride alone if you pass the height restrictions. If not double go-karts are available.

Pistol Pete’s Beans & Ice Cream serves up delicious hand-blended ice cream temptations of many varieties. If you love chocolate you might want to try the Zanzibar chocolate blended with peanut butter, brownie chunks and fudge. Or, if you are more about fruit you’ll want to be sure to indulge in some black cherry ice cream with fresh fruit mixed into it.

The Wilderness is clean, comfortable and offers something for every size party to keep guest entertained and feeling at home. We are already ecstatic about next years visit and creating memories while enjoying family time at the Wilderness Resort. Our family had a blast and I'm positive your family will too! A special thanks once again to the Wilderness Resort for providing our family complimentary lodging and daily water park passes.

  1. We stayed here in the winter so the outdoor activities were closed, but there was plenty for our teenage sons to do. The had tons of fun. The rooms were clean and comfortable; and the price was fair. We will consider coming back.
