With summer around the corner barbeques and celebrations are in full gear. Staying on a track can seem rather difficult and can cause a panic to those who are trying to lose weight. Nutrisystem understands that reaching your weight loss goal is extremely important, yet you don't want to feel left out of the summer festivities.
Whether you are hosting a BBQ or just attending one, I've come up with a few ideas to ease your mind.
1.) Grilling is a healthy style of cooking. Choose vegetables, chicken, pork and fish.
2.) Steer away from items drenched in BBQ sauces.
3.) When choosing bread always choose whole-wheat.
4.) Stay hydrated. Choose iced water and or unsweetened tea.
5.) For dessert choose fruit salad and fruit kabobs.
And for those like myself who will be traveling this Memorial Day I've come up with a some great tips to help you stay on track during your vacation!
1.) When dining out scan the menu for healthy options. Keep portion control in mind.
2.) Bring Nutrisystem with you -- the snacks/desserts and pantry ready muffins will help you stay focused and on track.
3.) When ordering deserts share them with your family and or travel companions.
4.) Get dressing on the side so that you can control the amount and try your best to avoid creamy dressings.
5.) Drink water with your meals and feel free to add a slice of lemon or lime.
6.) You can always reach out to one of Nutrisystem's registered dietitians by phone at: 1-800-585-5483, ext 1341.
I'll be traveling to California from 5/22/2013 until 05/27/2013 and I'm excited to put on my bikini and soak in the summer sun. With lots of walking and the endless options of restaurants I'm curious to see what my weight will be for the next weekly weigh in. Have a safe Memorial Day everyone!
